Review highlights
Based on 586 reviewsRestaurante Japones - ROKU in Castello de la Plana is widely appreciated for its authentic Japanese cuisine and high-quality, fresh ingredients. Guests frequently praise the attentive service and unique dining experience, often highlighting standout dishes such as sushi rolls, gyozas, and specialty items like crab tacos. The ambiance carries an exclusive, intimate feel, adding to the overall appeal. While the food receives consistent positive remarks for flavor and preparation, some diners note that certain dishes can be overly salty or have a sweetness that may not suit all palates. Pricing is regarded as on the higher side, reflecting its positioning as a premium dining option in the area.
Overall a lovely experience and recommended! Agedashi Tofu ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Blue Tuna Tartar ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Bento Yakiniku ⭐⭐⭐ (personally I found the Yakiniku sauce too sweet)
After catching a few shows about Japan on Netflix, we found ourselves with desire to eat Japanese food. To get into the restaurant, you have to ring the door bell. It has a feeling of exclusivity that made the food even more yummy. We are less familiar with this fare than we are with Chinese but the payoff will be worth it. For our first visit, I selected yakisoba. The Wife chose breaded chicken. The miso was excellent. We ate the gyoza happily. Everything was pretty. We happily recommend this place. Next time, we hope to bring our neighbors, a Seviano and his Italian girlfriend. I am aiming for the bento. The only mistake was asking for Creodo beer not knowing it was a wheat beer. No disaster but not my favorite. Next time I will stick to a Shiro lager.
We visited Castellón recently and discovered this fantastic Japanese restaurant with very attentive staff. If this place was in London, l'd go every month - top quality. l now miss it when l order sushi in London. We ordered the Roku roll, maki roll, gyozas, taco de cangrejo (crab taco which was my favourite, amazing - you HAVE to order this), edamame, chicken yakitori and katsu curry. For dessert we tried 2 dishes: Tarta de queso y matcha - a green tea cheesecake. Really appreciated this - matcha is a difficult ingredient to use and the balance between the cream cheese and matcha was just perfect. Postre Yogur Con Frutos Rojos - a delightfully fresh and cooling yogurt dessert with red fruits. l could eat this literally every day, heaven. If you want Japanese sushi and exciting fusion food using high quality ingredients do go here!
frankly speaking,Fusion was occupied so we decided to go to this one which nearby but without checking in advance. I didn’t feel disappointed about it. The food is ok , only the fried Wudong noodle has too much flavour . little bit salty for us. the drinks are nice.
I give a four cause I really liked the restaurant and the concept behind it. The food was really good, very tasty and well made. You can tell that the quality of the ingredients used is really high and fresh. The only real problem of this restaurant are the prices, they are 3/4€ higher than thy should be for almost every dish, but I think that they consider themselves as a luxury restaurant and obviously there's nothing as chic in the entire city, so that kinda explains their prices. We ordered edamame, really good, served steaming hot, then the roku roll, chicken yakitori, fried sea bass with veggies, citrus duck, salmon carpaccio with maracuja and to end the meal a sake sorbet and a matcha cheesecake, yum!!
The best and most authentic Japanese food we had in Castellón!
We had a lovely lunch there with friends. The food was very good and plentiful. The waitress wanted to practice her English with us, which we were happy to do.
Pleasant for lunch. Very good service. Food was fine but not exceptional. I was very happy that I could get a table as I did not have time to book.
